About Us
A few of us indigenous, North American, non-reservationist natives of Cherokee/Blackfeet ancestry established the Cherokee/Blackfeet Cultural Circle Federation in the New York Tri-State area. Formulated in 1995, it has been in operation since 1997 and we feel it has a very long and promising future. Those of us of the Cherokee/Blackfeet Cultural Circle have been persistent in putting on annual powwows since our conception. One of the Cherokee/Blackfeet Cultural Circle Federation's great accomplishments was putting on the first Cherokee/Blackfeet Cultural Circle Federation Grand Parade of Indigenous Natives in 1999. It was held in New York City on world-famous Madison Avenue in midtown Manhattan.Another great accomplishment occurred in 2001 with the hosting of the gala Indigenous Native Indian Art Festival. The Cherokee/Blackfeet Cultural Federation is now working towards our seventh annual powwow of the 21st century. The Cherokee/Blackfeet Cultural Circle Federation is a 501C-3.
